Rem model 812

Hi i am new to the site and was wondering if you guys could help me out. I recently got a Remington model 812 in 16 gauge. The barrel is 24" long and i looked up info and it said they came in 28" so has this barrel been cut? Also on the gun it says ###x cyl does this mean its a Improved cylinder choke? And if the barrel was cut does this mean its no more a improved cylinder and now just a cylinder bore? Thanks.

The barrel will have been cut and it will now be cylinder bore. Pretty much a bush gun. Hopefully you didn't put out too much cash for it.

Thanks gunsaholic, I got it for a decent price so can't complain and I bought it for a bush gun anyways. But still a bummer being only cylinder bore but Owell.

Good news is usually when you see the ### it probally means it was gunsmith cut so probally a good job. Shoot it and enjoy it

Shot the 812 today and was very impressed, not a bad pattern either. So what does ###x cyl mean?

The ones I have seen like that was just the gunsmith X'ing out the original marked choke. Yours he probally went ### over the IMP.
