I am just wondering if there are shorter barrels out there to purchase?

Would I be able to put on a shorter barrel with the 3inch shell even tho the express super mag is designed up to 3 1/2 inch shells?

I bought the 14" from Dlask and it went on with no tools. Its only 3" but whatever. I think all the remington barrels interchange.
 
Barrels for the Remington 870 are interchangeable, whether in 3-1/2 inch or standard 3 inch chambering. (Barrels for the 11-87 however are not.) I think that the only exception to the rule is whether the gun is the Premier version or not; these have lighter and thinner barrels and the fore-ends are not the same.
