rem pump

i am thinking of getting a rem pump in 30-06, my question is, are they a good gun?

I have 7600's in 30-06, 35 whalen, 270 and a 760 in 300 savage. I my opinion the best all around deer gun made. Over half of both my deer camps carry 7600's they are reliable and quick if you hunt in bush country and/ or with dogs.

take care of the magazine, if it gets bent even a little(dropping it on the ground) you'll be shooting single shot.

My father has one in 308, loves it. I put a set of fiber optic sights on it this winter. I am wanting a 7600P... almost have the $$$ saved... already have a 10 shot mag for it.

I have a 760 in 300 Savage. I used to deer hunt with a bolt but switched to
the pump because the second shot is faster and easier to make.
(The pump stroke returns the rifle the target. Whereas with a bolt
if you move your head while working the bolt, you have to reacquire the target.)

Didn't need the second shot last fall though....

My hunting partner has a 7600 in 30-06 very fast and accurate. I would like to have the 7615P in .223.

My father's go to rifle is a Remington 760 pump in 06. Very reliable and produces great hunting accuracy with anything we feed it.

I love my 760 30-06. The only drawback is that they are a little rattly if you are trying to sneak up on something. Mine shoots really well with handloads 180GR. bullets.

I grew up shooting pumps, 12g and .308. For bush hunting and hunting with dogs, you can't go wrong. If I'm still hunting or stand hunting where the deer aren't running, I go with my bolts. My whole family and half my group uses 7600 or 760's, always lots of deer hanging. In Ontario, where you can party hunt, it's not unusual to have 2 or more deer come out to you, and the pump lets you followup on more than one.

I love them. They just don't ride nice on my quad. I let a .280 go that I would love to have back.

If you own an 870 the 7600 will be second nature to you. Quick shooting gun that suits northern Ontario Whitetail hunting very well.
