Model R-25.™ Built to Hunt.

Remington is excited to announce the Model R-25, a modular repeating rifle designed for big game hunters. The Model R-25 is available in 243 Win., 7mm-08 Remington and 308 Win.; three of today’s most popular short action hunting cartridges.

With the hunter in mind, the new R-25 modular repeating rifle boasts the most advanced design aspects of AR 308 Win. style rifles available today. For peak accuracy, the R-25 features a precision-crafted 20 inch barrel with recessed hunting crown that’s free-floated within a machined-aluminum fore-end tube for the ultimate in shot-to-shot consistency. Six longitudinal flutes forward of the gas block provide increased rigidity and weight reduction while promoting rapid barrel cooling.

Control comes naturally with the ergonomic pistol grip and lightweight overall design of the R-25. Its precision engineered upper and lower is machined from aluminum forgings for durability. For the ultimate in concealment in a variety of terrain, each Model R-25 is completely covered in the ultra-effective Mossy Oak® Treestand™ camouflage pattern. Each rifle is provided with a four-round magazine and is compatible with all aftermarket AR 308 Win. type magazines and accessories.

Available in 243 Win/7mm-08/308 Win

This nice little rifle is getting some good reviews.
Just under 2" with factory loads. Sub-MOA with handloads.
Some say the Trigger is crappy, Remington says it's a 4.5lb trigger????
And the price is the best point. :)

The big SUCK factor is the DPMS Magazine price. $25 in the US...$75 CDN!!!!!
Cost alot to pin those mags I guess.

I think people have this 'Black Rifle' must be Tacticool thing on the brain. Too many guys with Door Kickin' Fantasies.

IF, by chance you need to use this in a Survival 'Event'...Ontario is 98% Green....as in Forest. Think about it.

I'm going to talk with my MP show him a couple of pictures of these rifles R-15/R-25 then I'm going to tell him what awesome hunting guns these would be.

I think I will invite him to go deer hunting this fall and coyote/wolf hunting this winter... :D

Better groups than any stock M1A/M14S..

I've heard (from semi-reliable sources) that the R-15 is not getting across the border - either no export permit, or CBSA stopping them. I would imagine this would apply here too. Really sad, these rifles appear to be excellent value for the money.

It's amazing the things people hear. Better down-grade your source.

The gun is already in stores. I know of one store that has 3 on the shelf right now, priced at $1500 I think. And as Airborn said, there was one at P&D.

As far as I know(which isn't much :p), it's the same gun as the DMPS LR-308.
And on one of the forums I'm on, the guys love their DPMS guns. At or under MOA with match ammo is a regular thing.

As far as the colors, guys are taking their black guns(Stags, Bushy's, and Colts!) and spray painting them in the back yard.
This is done for you, in a color that is much more suitable for the wilds of Canada than an FDE or desert color..

I like them. I've been wanting a 308 AR-type gun, this one might be in my future(or maybe an LR-308 from Questar).

I have one of the ones from P+D on lay away. Cant wait to get it home and try it out. Was looking at scopes the other day and figure I am going to try one of the new bushnell 6500's on it.

SIR/Cabela's has the R-15 cataloged & the lady I spoke with said that the R-25 would also be available. If the price of the R-25 is anywhere near the comparable price its little brother is selling for, I'd definitely be down for one. Aside from the camo finish, they're the best bargain in an AR right now.

The r-15 is around the $1100 mark and the r-25 is around the $1500 mark. Different stores selling for different prices.

Picked up my R-25 on Thursday. Had it out Friday and again today(Sunday). If you're looking for a deal in a .308 Ar platform I'd suggest picking one up. I was getting sub moa out of it with match and the odd sub moa group with American eagle 150 grain ball. The Real Tree is kind of growing on me too. we definately have to start putting pressure on the Feds to change some oic's.
