Since I actually have a .270 Winchester with a 26" barrel which isn't too common, here's my experience for comparison. While I haven't tried Reloder 22, which will likely produce the highest velocity with a .270, I have been using IMR-4350 because so far nothing shoots more accurately. With IMR-4350 I've got 130 grain Core-Lokts chronographed at 3200 fps using 55 grains of powder and 140 grain Partitions at 3050 fps using 54 grains of powder.

Chuck; That sounds reasonable, and agrees with my personal experience. It also gives the 264 an easy 150 FPS, and possibly 200 FPS advantage across the board. Not a lot, but it does count! Regards, Eagleye.
