I bought the stevens 200 in 22-250 after looking at both rifles. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against remington, but WTF did they finish the sps with? Barbeque paint? I will admit that the stock sucks on the stevens but it is a lot easier to get a new stock then refinish the metal. I didn't think the stock on sps was all that great either. I do like how it has a floor plate unlike the stevens. I made a choice more on which rifle I was comfortable with more. I love the way the stevens shoots, I put 3 shot 1" groups with a good rest. Personally I would go handle both rifles and get the one that fits you the best. They are both solid actions and come from reputable companies.
