Rem vs Dlask 14 inch barrels

Dlask is twice the price and twice the weight. Dlask also has been known to have some fitment problems, I have one that will only fit one out of 3 wingmasters that I own. To be honest, get a Remington (I bought 2 even though I don't need them at the moment). If you can get a Rem, grab it quick, the importers have supposedly said there won't be any more. I expect we will start seeing them on the EE for twice the price people paid for them

I have a Dlask, it fits well. I comes with a front sight blade, which I see as a plus over the Rem bead.

What's the fitting issue with your?

My DLASK 12.5 is a heavy sob compared to any other barrel I have. The fitment issue with mine, because the dlask barrel is so thick, is with the pump grip. I just had to sand down the inside of the forend a bit so it could cycle. Once done, you will never see it unless you take the barrel off.

The Remington shipment that just came in does have the ball detent. On my Dlask barrel, the fit was so snug the bolt wouldn't lock up on 2 of my wingmasters. I put it on an older one that had seen some more use, and all was good. I use a Hogue forend and there is plenty of barrel clearance. I find the blade too thick on the dlask. The dlask is a good second to the Remington, but it was almost $300 (don't know if it still is or not) where the Remington was $180 taxes in to my door. If you want to put in choke tubes, the dlask has plenty of wall thickness (and then some)

Love my Remington! For the price, fit and finish, and has a ball detent. Not to mention the bead is raised as opposed to the Dominion arms 12" which are very difficult to use the bead for aiming.

I was in HiCal the other day and saw that they just got an order of Remington 14" barrels in. Not sure the price as they were just unboxing them and hey, I don't own a Remington. Just a heads up.

-Saryet, out!-

Ive had both and if you compare them side by side the Remington barrels look like junk, my dlask barrel is a thing of beauty and dropped right in, no fuss, I have it on a new Remington police walnut and gave away the Remington barrel

You're a generous man to give something away that you could have easily sold and recouped most of your investment.

I have a NEA 14" heavy on mine. Always another option. I prefer the bead front sight over the blades. Posted a pic of it in the pic thread.

I bought my Remington from Wolverine Supplies . When it was all up in the air whether they were coming or not, I came very close to buying a NEA barrel for the same amount of money. I'm glad I waited as they came out 2 weeks later. I'd have been pissed had I ended up with the NEA when all I would have had to do was to wait 2 weeks.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you have the abity to buy the Remington for any reasonable price, you should do so if that's what you want. Apparently, it was a one-time opportunity to import them.

It's nice to have choices. One of the reasons people buy a Mossberg 590 A1 is for the heavy barrel like the US Marines ordered. Other people prefer the lighter barrels found in the 590. I personally picked up a 12" and 14" from Dlask with choke tubes when they were available. Why ? I felt those were the best possible barrels for the 870. Why not get the best if that suits your needs.
