Remember when K-31s were $300?

I regret not buying the K11 + case of GP11 combo SFRC offered a year and a half ago. I don't know how many they had originally offered, but when I noticed it there were over 10. Thirteen units and $699 if I remember correctly. I kept checking the inventory and for weeks only 1 or 2 would sell. Then they had a 10-12% off sale and I believe there were 7 units left, the following morning there were none. Boohoo and woe is me! :ang

Haven't seen them anywhere since.

Yeah, I got my K11 from SFRC. The GP11 is gone and shot but man what a sweet rifle. I like it more then my K31. More svelte, and shoots on par with my K31.

Had a K11 and a 31.

Sold both for about $300 a couple of years back at a slight loss.

I am mad that I sold them and lost the appreciation but they were just not really my thing in the end.

Now get me going on selling my Geo Tracker for $500...should have never sold that hunting buggy!!!

I have a K31 with pristine bluing and stock that I paid $250 for a CT. Got a crate of Swiss GP11 too.

I think I've shot 20 rounds out of it...

I like it, it's a beautiful rifle and design but I don't buy guns with the possibility of a return investment in mind. So no, I'm not upset over not buying a few more at the time.

I got a k31 for about $250 a few years ago, I don't like it - seems a rather wide gun and I'm really a fan of straight pulls. I just got it since people on youtube were raving on it. Once when I finished shooting it, I was picking up the brass and found a gun part in front of the bench, didn't look familiar then saw that the nose cap was missing on mine. I also don't like top ejecting guns, sometimes you get cases dropping on you head, in your hoodie or down the back of your neck - happens when I shoot my mauser c96 broomhandle.

You can find K31s in .308, there were some made for the civilian market in that caliber in Switzerland (for the civilian market here and in the States). Rebarreling one likely would kill the main advantage those rifles have which is that fantastic barrel properly fitted into the stock.

Its not even like ammo is hard to find. You can buy 480rd crates for 400$ or less, which considering it is match grade non-corrosive ammo is a steal of a deal. Not much ammo kicking around at most LGS, but who really orders much ammo from their LGS anymore?

These rifles are build like Swiss watches, definitely worth more then $250-$300 range in previous years. I see them on EE now everywhere from $600 to $1000 I wonder what they will top out at.

If ammo is scarce and you don't care too much about historical accuracy, why not rebarrel in a more common caliber?

There was a dealer (I can't remember the dealer) who brought in .308 Barrels in for the K31. They were very expensive in relative terms to the rifle. I think around $1400 ish.
