Noticed that as well.
I’m not a veteran, but even so, don’t see why it’s distasteful. There were plenty of days when brave men and women sacrificed their lives and still do. If you really want to go all the way with your statements, I think some research is in order for the few days if any that no lives were lost.
Like buying your wife flowers on her birthday. You’d better not only pick one day to “appreciate” her!!
