At The Toronto Star they are soliciting pictures of and stories about wartime/peacetime artifacts for a Remembrance Day story. To quote, they are looking for "objects that hold special meaning for a veteran or his or her loved ones".....;)

I think perhaps a few stories about pieces of shootable milsurp ought to be contributed to the living@thestar.ca address ?....:yingyang:

Thoughts are welcome.....

What about battle damaged milsurps that were brought back by Canadian soldiers from WW1 ?

Hmm, knowing the Toronto Star, they might put a blurb in at the end to melt them down...

There are Browning HiPowers made in Toronto during WWII for Canadian and allied forces, and some of them are still in service with Canadian forces, in Afghanistan. That would make a nice then and now sequence of pictures.

Have heard that Canada still has lots of "unissued" Hi-Powers and since you folks have adopted a new sidearm, there was talk of sending those NEW IN THE BOX PISTOLS to the SMELTER!
