Remi 870 jamming problems

That is because it is a Wingmaster and they were actually built to minimum specs with tight chamber tolerances . But I assure you at some point in time it will happen with the cheap ammo.

I would like to hear some other opinions on my recent 870 jamming problem.

Out last weekend blowing up some clays. First 100 rounds were federal #8 shot. Zero problems- gun was slick as piss.

Got off another 20 rounds of winchester #7 1/2 shot and the gun began to not want to eject the spent rounds. It took quite a pull to open the chamber. This is the second time this has happened.

Is it because the gun is ++hot after 100 rounds or is it the cheap winchester ammo, or what?

I had exactly the same problem with my 870. Even had to use the ground to cycle it sometimes. There was a bur in the chamber catching the base of the shells. Since having it polished I've had zero issues with it. Even if thats not your problem its the easiest/ cheapest thing to rule out first.

i have used the winchester ammo in both my browning and remington pump i think the ammo is #### and it expands to much making your ejector work harder to pull them out

My 870 has been doing this for years with the cheap wal-mart crap. I've polished the chambers and didn't see a difference. I've put over a 1000 rounds through it, fighting it the whole way through. I bought a box of winchester AA shells and couldn't believe how smooth the action is when I fed it shells that it liked! However my mossberg 500 and maverick 88 will eat the cheap crap all day long.

My 870 also has problems with the cheap winchester bulk pack ammo. The rim angle at the base of the shell seems much steeper with the winchester bulk pack ammo than with the federal bulk pack ammo, with which it does not have any problems with.
