does this piss off any others here????? a few guys in our group have to be nagged for weeks on end to get there tags....
if it was just regular tags i would not give a crap.... but im talking of getting there tags in before the deadlines to get in the draws..
some times they make the dead line:rolleyes: some times they dont:(

Well i'm bad for 'last minute filing' for the draws, but yeah it does honk me off when it seems the only way i can get everyone to put in is to drive around myself and pick the stuff up.

I am the last minute type of person also. I got my moose tag like 5 minutes before it ended but I wasn't aware it could be bought on the phone system. Thank god for that post on reminding us to get the moose tags :) I am so bad, I am not even 100% I picked the right wmu. I was relooking at my stuff and I think I picked wmu 44 instead of 42 lol

Next time I will make sure to buy all tages atleast 3 months before the season/deadline.

Well if you have an organized camp it should be run like a business. The Camp Boss or CEO should delegate responsibilities and make damn sure everyone is doing their jobs. Whoever is responsible to inform the members should do so... if it is up to the individuals they should do it or pay a penalty if they don't.
Why should responsible members have to give up their tag or lessen the odds of getting one because of a slacker?
Should a person who was too damn lazy to enter the draw be able to shoot a Bull Tag that belongs to a responsible member?
The Camp Boss is ultimately responsible for making the rules, whether democratically, by committee, or unilaterally (this is my favorite!) and he should make sure they are followed.
If someone in my/our camp does not put in for his tag or enter a draw they will probably not get to hunt.... or they will hunt with restrictions.
This type of laziness is almost as bad as a freeloader who does not pay his dues or is constantly shirking the workload.
If there are no rules the center does not hold... and the camp will suffer... animosity, anger, hard feelings, call it what you will, it makes for a lousy camp atmosphere.:(

I applied for my antlerless deer tag about 3 weeks ago, deadline is July 31st ! For dear tags, if the guys don't apply, too bad for them. I assume you are referring to the moose draw though, where if you have enough pool 1 guys in your group you can be guaranteed a tag in certain WMU's. If they don't apply and you don't get a tag because of it, that would definitely be a piss off.

Same thing happened to our group. One guy phoned his in. While we all agreed to mail them in. As we do every year. That took some a$$ kissing at the MNR to get them to fix. Another guy waited till the last minute to drop his off here at the house. After 3 weeks of naging. He finally did. We had to express post them in. Seems like this B.S. happens to us every year. If we didn't need so many for the guarenteed group size. It wouldn't be such a big deal. But still a pi$$ off! Maybe have to get another group in the future.

Dave.

BIGRED....... i agree with all you said......
but it gives me the giggles to remember all other threads on the camp rules..

i started a few threads on camp rules.....all,s i ever got was a good camp dont need rules:rolleyes: ..

but from years of being in a camp.... rules are to made ,abided by...or form your own camp

Last season, I got my app in for the controlled hunt and reminded my cuz ta do the same. Come October he asked me where he could get a controlled tag:mad:

Well as the season went, he sat at home on the couch while I bagged the biggest deer of my life!

Although getting the deer in the truck was a pain solo, I have the 'I told ya so's' to keep rubbing in;)

Bet he wont forget this season...

Set Mommabear on them.....

Kidding........my group is so excited we all rush out and get them when they are available. Easy to fill out too as we have the trip planned before the LEH cards come out:redface:

It's easy for our moose group. There's only 3 of us, and we all work together:D . Did it all over the phone right at work.

i dont moose hunt but the first non rent pay after tags come out for bear and deer i have them and the antlerless gets sent in same day as i buy the tags

Geeze foggy, where do you buy tags? I generally buy a license, tags come latter, by mail. I figured they were free, don't see the connection. :D
they start off as either a calf or buck tags when you first buy unless you hunt or live in one of those calf draw areas:p

I had my moose application filled out and gone 5 mins after the mailman delivered it! I think I was the first person to get it in this year. I was late last year and it cost me a licence. Get it in early slackers!
