...where might one buy one of these used in Canada? My gun has fixed/full choke, I'm thinking I'd like something more open for grouse.

Any 28 gauge barrel from Remington will be hard to locate. That the 11-48 hasn't been made for decades will make it only harder.
Were this gun mine I'd have a smith open it up to IC or Modified or if I were feeling flush have choke tubes installed.
Can't help you there. Might require a trip to Houston.Hi Claybuster: When I had my 28ga wingmaster done last year I could not find any shop in canada that had the gear to either hone or thread a 28ga barrel for choke tubes, 20 and 12 yea but not 28gs . That is why mine went to briley in texas.
I have a 410 870 now I would like to get done also do you know of any smiths in canada that can do small gauges.
