my friend has an old Remington 1100 semi auto 12 gauge that he's having problems with. he was at the range today shooting skeet. apparently at this range, you can only put one round in the gun at a time. so he would load a round in the chamber, close the action, and take his shot.
however, for some reason, the spent hull wasn't/isn't ejecting. he has to manually work the action in order to eject the spent hull. i don't think it's jamming or stovepiping. the action simply won't cycle and eject the round.
now, i'm not very familiar with the 1100, especially the old ones like this one. but my experience with semi-autos tells me that the spent hull should be ejected.
i'm wondering if a part is worn out or something. i'll be taking a look at it this evening and seeing if i can piece together what's going on.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
