Anyone know if it's possible to replace the mag. tube on a Remington 1100 shotgun?

Any advise will be appreciated.

It's covered a couple times if you search the Remington forums on shotgunworld, but as is said above it's not an easy job. Unless it has sentimental value most say to just buy a new used gun.

The magtube poped out of a friend's 1187 and I did some search how to fit a new one.
The answers I found is it has to be soldered with a bronze aloy which require high temp. and proper attention must be taken to protect the rest of the receiver from heat.

I have silver soldered a couple of them back in but as was indicated above it is not an easy job. If the tube has come out of the receiver because the silver solder has let go, then it is much easier to put the original back in.

To buy and install a new one, it is not worth the cost of the parts, labour and refinishing.
