Hi,
I just purchased a really clean, older 1100. How do I remove the mag plug? There is a metal piece in the mag tube end that has a slot in it that I tried to unscrew but it started to bend so I spotted. Is there a trick to this?
Thanks,
Craig

All I did was unscrew the magazine cap and there should be a metal 'plug' stuck in the tube that you can pry out with a screw driver. I forget If the forend needed to be removed, but I don't think so. If you google the 1100 manual it'll tell you how to do it in there. Getting it back together was the hard part for me.

Just be sure you don't get into a legal situation that can turn out bad for you. Use on your property/range should be fine, but if you take it into the field, even if your not hunting, bad things COULD happen.

Thanks for the manual link, I guess the trick is to "pry" as the manual says. No problem about the field use, we just shoot clays at my buddies farm. I just want more than 3 shots!

Might want to read over the Ontario hunting regulations. Especially, their definition of hunting. Unfortunately in Ontario, a hunter is basically guilty until proven innocent. By being on a farm, it maybe construed as "the act of hunting" (yeah it sounds stupid, but this is Ontario we are talking about).

There was a thread on this board with direct links to the laws. I'll try to find it for you.
