I bought a used Remington 1100 on the EE. It had a problem with the firing pin. It wasn't firing. I had it fixed. But now I tried it and it fires Ok but I noticed that the primer is not flush anymore. The center of the primer is raised up a little after firing.
Should I continue to use the gun or have it looked at again ??
Any input is appreciated.
Kind Regards, Henry

Have you tried different ammo? Unless there is a depression somehow worn around the firing pin in the breach block, it sounds like a problem with those primers.

Pics would be nice. Sounds like you're talking about cratering in the primer. Cratering doesn't worry me as long as the primers are piercing. Could be that one of the things your smith did was widen the firing pin hoile in the bolt face. This would leave a small crater in the primer as the force of firing the shell pushed the primer back into the bolt face.

Check every single shell and make damn sure they are not piercing. You could ruin your bolt face.

Also, what shells are you using? Are you reloading?
