Remington 1100 sporting 28 for steel shot?

Now that we have a dove season in Ontario, I was looking sideways at my 1100 sporting 28ga as a possible dove whacker.
Problem is that regs stipulate steel shot for dove (they are considered migratory birds I guess)
I can get components to load steel no problem, but am wondering if steel shot will damage the 1100 barrel / choke tubes.
Anyone know?

If it has threaded chokes, usually you are ok as long as your not using extra full

Nope, no damage done with light steel... I load Win AA hulls with #6 steel for woodies and teal out of my 1100 Sporting 28... A lot of guys are shooting Kent steel target loads in #7 steel, with zero adverse effects.
