Reading up on those 3, they seem to have the same basic design and they differ just in a few internal parts. Can anyone shed some light on what their differences are?

The 2400 is a cheaper version of the 1400.They use a rotating bolt while the 1100 does not.In my opinion the 1100 is a far better shotgun than the 2400/1400.In the past I have owned two 1400;s and had trouble with both of them.My 28 gauge 1100 works well.

The 1100 is the best selling auto loading shotgun ever made. The 1400/2400 is out of production.

I was always under the impression that the model 2400 was the "Canadian" version of the "U.S." model 1400. I thought that they were identical guns with different brandings.

I thought that the 2400 was the 1400 without all the fills. As if the 1400 had frills?:D

The 1400 had walnut stock and fore end with stamped checkering. The 2400 was assembled in Canada using hard wood stock and fore arm (birch) and no stamped checkering.

The action of the two shotguns was the same. The 1400,2400,140 and 1500 were all different versions of the same action with different stock and fore arm finishes.

Winchester at times seemed like they wanted to make people think they had come out with a new shotgun by changing the stocks and model numbers. All they did was come out with a different version of the same action.
