I have been looking for a decent 12ga semi auto shotty in 3 1/2".

I recently found one used, a Remington 1100 with removeable choke tubes (it comes with 3 choke tubes) the firearm itself shows a little wear, I would put it around 90%, but the stock and foregrip are both in excellect shape. The stock is wood & the barrel & action is blued.

I already have a Winchester Pump in 2 3/4", So I guess I would mostly be using this shotty for hunting waterfoul in the fall.

The asking price is $750, which I feel is a little high, am I out to lunch or is the other guy?

Thanks!

The 1100 comes in two variants; one for 2-3/4" shells and one for 3" shells. Can't handle 3-1/2" at all.

Ensure it is a 3" model if you want one for waterfowl.

$750 is too much for such a gun. (For comparison, you can get a brand new Mossberg 930 with three chokes AND it can handle any load for about $500. The 1100 is finished a little nicer, though.) I wouldn't go over $500.

I bought a Used 1100 as my very first gun it was only 2 3/4 but very nice shooting gun. My father has the 1100 Magnum that will fire 3" shells and his is 24 years old. So it is a good gun but $750.00 seems high.

Ya i bought a used 1100 that was in superb conditions for 350. It is only 2/34 and has fixed full choke but those suit my needs, anyhow 750 is definately to high for this gun.

Hmmmm.... He said it was a 3 1/2", and I didn't look when I handled it....

I already have a 2&3/4 Winchester 1200 and I have an old CIL 3" pump, I am really looking for a 3&1/2" auto. Preferably used (to save on cost), I would like to get my hands on it before the fall season opens......

I am looking in the $750 to $1000 range..... I really can't afford more than that and still have enough moola to actually hunt this fall. I have just about decided to put it off for another year...... after all both my shottys work.... I just want one more ;) And it has to be an auto, not a pump, not that I have anything against pumps, but I already have 2!

Any sugestions?

1100 so far as I know does not come in 3 1/2". You'd need to get an 11-87 super mag. From what I hear the 11-87 super mag has problems cycling with different types of ammo.
