Remington 1187 Barrel Question

Hey everyone
I've got a turkey barrel off a Remington 1187 premier and I'm wondering if this barrel will fit other 1187 models? I tried putting it on my buddies 1187 sportsman however the sportsman has a 3.5 recieved and when the barrel was installed it left a small gap inside the chamber. Not sure if that would make a difference or not.

Let me know what you all think or if you've switched barrels before.

1187 barrel interchange within gauge and chamber length. So all 3" frames and barrels interchange. All 3 1/2" frames and barrels interchange. 3 1/2" barrels do not fit 3" frames and 3" barrels do not fit 3 1/2" frames. This info from Remington.
