Hi... I recently came by a Remington 12C pump action .22 manufactured in 1923. It was partially disassembled when I got it, all the parts and I got it mostly working.
There is one problem left here (and I will try my best to explain)... When I fire and try feed another round I can see the round lift up but then the bullet runs into the firing pin and doesn't want to go all the way into position. Wobling the pump around will cause the firing pin to go back eventually and the round can chamber. So it's like you have to pump the rifle twice... or half stroke it to get it to work for the next shot. I've taken the bolt right apart and let it soak in Hoppes. Firing pin looks okay and firing pin return spring still seems to work. Also, the extractor was worn and no longer exactly lined up with the bolt. It was sharp and was scoring the brass, I gently took a stone to it and fixed that problem. Cases come out smooth and line up perfectly with the bore. But none of that fixed it. Is there anything else I can try to get it to run smoother?
