I just took delivery of a Remington 1903 .30-06 Scout. I found it at The Shootist in Alberta. I think it might be of some interest to you guys because it looks to be an older job. The guys on the Scout rifle forum have suggested it might actually be a Gunsite build. I’ve contacted them to see if they have any records on the rifle. FCCB0103-3615-47B4-BC86-05210F4962F6.jpgThe action has been worked over and is very smooth. The metal is either matte blued or some type of non-parkerized finish. It has a Timney trigger in it that is light and crisp. It sits in what I believe is a Clifton synthetic stock. The barrel measures at 20 inches, and has integral mounts (Ruger type) on the barrel that holds a 2.75x Burris IER scope. The rear sight Is unlike anything I’ve seen, just a simple ghost ring mounted to the rear bridge. The front sight is a serrated post mounted at the front of the front sight base. The barrel is otherwise clean. It weighs 7.6lbs.
I hope to get it out shooting next week. I’ll report my findings.

I got the rifle out to shoot yesterday. It was a beautiful day with almost no wind. I shot five different types of ammunition at 100 yards. It shows real promise with Barnes 150gr TTSX and Hornady precision Hunter 178 grain ELDX. C412CBF7-03E5-47B0-A4A4-5B436C960189.jpg
I did however have two problems. First, the rifle would not eject. I’m going to take it apart right now and see what’s going on. The second and more serious was the bipod while closed, dislodged from the stock under recoil. I think I should be able to secure it with a little JB Weld.

Good shooting!
I hope you can solve your issues. It's always something it seems. At least the accuracy appears to be there.
