Looking at the R1 and the R1 enhanced at LGD Enhanced going for 250.00 more. Would the 250.00 be better spent on a trigger tune by a good gunsmith, if the enhanced even has a better trigger. Am not concerned by the fixed sights on the plain R1 because I would install a optic anyway. .45AC

Where are these pistols made?

I've got the R1 "Enhanced" CMD in SS. Love it!

It has adjustable sights, extended mag release, grooved front strap. It is the best fitted 1911 I own, rivalling my Series '70 Gold Cup. Good trigger out of the box, surprising for a Series '70 trigger. I found the grips too aggressive for my liking.

If I wanted another 5" 1911, I'd but the "Enhanced" version.

I've got the R1 Enhanced. Really only bought the enhanced model over the standard because it came customized to my liking without me having to do anything. I really like the Front serations and fiber optic front sight. When I bought it 3-4 years ago it was $869 from Reliable and for that price point there wasn't much else comparable.

In my opinion the Enhanced is worth it for the sights alone. The Enhanced is Novak cut which is a positive should you decide to change the sights to something else. The regular R1 is a proprietary sight cut making upgrades difficult to source and expensive to install.
