Remington 1911R1 - Thoughts for the Mrs

My wife was handling different semis in .45 yesterday at wholesale sports and she liked the Remington 1911 the best. The way it feels, the sights etc. What are your thoughts on this gun? I want to keep around the $600 -700 range

Also where might I find one other than WSS

Used an R1 Enhanced in IPSC Classic for a while, all that needed to change on it was an addition of a guide rod, 14# spring, trigger lightening and new grips.

Its still one of my fav hand guns, great valued for money.
 
I have the r1 enhanced , i was not 1911 'till i bought it , very well balance, not much recoil than m'y 9mm, i just love this gun, it worth every penny, Best buy for the money
 
X2 on the SR1911. $700.00 if you look around. Love mine. Before you commit to Remington, have her hold the Ruger.

This is part of the problem, we don't have enough shops around here for her to handle them. Where can I find the ruger online for a decent price?

She handled kimber, sig, remington. She says the remington was the lightest and the thinnest. It fit her hand different, so as you say, "basically" can mean a lot to some. I am mid vancouver island, bc
