remington 300 um power level ammo

What do you think of this.
I was on the rem site and saw the prom video for power level ammo for the 300 ultra mag. level 1 matches a 30-06, level 2 matched 300win and 300wsm and level 3 was full power.
You could do this yourself if you handload but I thought it was kind of cool.

I guess their big selling point, is the point of impact changes very slightly, so by changing the ammo you really don't have to go to the range to change the scope settings. Idea is good. I would like to see what the price on the ammo is. It would truly make the 300 RUM a all around rifle, without killer recoil. They are doing the same with the 7mm RUM also, and they are putting that one out in the SPS this year. Which actually interests me more than the 300.

they're doing it for the 7mm RUM this year too...

the idea is good, but most people who buy an Ultra Mag & shoot factory ammo, probably bought the thing cuz they think it will kill animals better than a 300 WSM/win mag. they bought it for the macho factor. also the average RUM owner who shoots factory probably only shoots half a box a year (kicks too much, and its expensive to practice with )

imagine what their buddies would say when they find the box of "level 1 corlokt" ammo in their backpack!

Take the ammo out of the level one box and put it in a level 3 box... then show your buddies how easily you tame the recoil of the mighty 300 RUM.
