Remington 504 - Any Good???

I thought some of the better rimfire shooters would reply
look on rimfire central
but they look and feel like a rem centerfire, nice bolt feel but poorly made bolt attachment,
barrels are hit or miss,
nice wood and nicely made,
they are the base for a nice custom barrel as they interchange quickly and easily like a finnfire p94s or a ruger 77/17 or 77/22 check out lilja website,
nice rifles, had 2 sold 1
the new 547 rem is the same but with a custom barrel and the 547 custom target has a ss barrel and flatish stock, wish they were sold in canada
nice rifles, the one I have would part with for 750 or more, nice stuff, buy one and shoot it ,
get a lilja or shilen drop in barrel and a better stock and go to town

I have two 504's, one is the sporter, the other a HB. The sporter's original barrel was about a ½" at 50 yards proposition, OK for most shooters, but I wanted better. I replaced the barrel with a Lilja SS sporter barrel chambered with the Match EPS chamber. The sucker sure shoots now! The HB has never been any problem. Bought it used, but it is a very good shooter. I wouldn't take it to a certified BR shoot, but for a local shoot, it will work just fine. Like Jefferson says, Buy one, if it is not up to expectations, buy a Lilja and enjoy. They are very nice rifles. Regards, Eagleye.
