Remington 507 Barrel Swap

I want to put a heavy .22LR barrel on my 597. Does anyone know if it will fit where the old narrow barrel was mounted, or do I need a new reciever?

Reciever is the same between the HBAR and regular models, you will need to open the barrel channel though. Where are you getting a heavy barrel from?

Thank God it fits the reciever, though I figured that I'd need to open up the barrel channel. thanks, DAR 701.
I don't know where I'll get the barrel. Maybe from Brownell's or order it through the gunsmith here.

Had my barrel off today for the big cleaning (every 3k rounds), very easy to take off and on. Let me know how the hunt goes for the barrel! Looks like the barrel channel would need about 1/8" of wood removed to get the HBAR in. The factory HBAR models have the same barrel shank diameter, just no taper to them...
