hi i was wondering if anyone knows if there is an adjustable trigger available for a remington 581 lh i am left handed (so is the rifle) any help is appriciated thank you in advance scott

There was an article in "Rifle" magazine on how to make the 788 trigger adjustable and the 581 trigger system is similar. It was quite a while ago, probably in the 1980s, but it might be possible to find it on the Internet.

The procedure involved drilling and tapping two holes in the trigger housing, and cutting the spring that provides tension to both the trigger and the sear. I did a couple of them "way back when" and they worked quite well.

You can set the trigger ridiculously (and unsafely) low if you do the modifications. I have had a couple accidental discharges because I set the trigger way too low. The gun fired when I closed the bolt. Depending how low you go, you may have to remove the safety. Granted if you gun is a single shot benchrest rifle (like I've made mine), then the lack of safety is irrelevant.

There is a silhouette smith in the US by the name of Evelio MacDonald who fits Anschutz 50.18 triggers to those rifles, something about them having the fastest lock-time of any rimfire.
The trigger alone is $250 though and then you add-in his time.
