Hi there, I acquired a Remington 597 today as stated in the ad. I’m curious if anyone has a lead on some higher capacity mags and the 10 round aswell. I am brutal at trying to find anything firearm related on line. Thanks!

Try typing "597 magazine" on this website called Google.ca

It's incredible. The very first search result was an in stock store as was the second result!

How to internet aside, I enjoy my 597. The 10 round mags are nice if you are shooting prone or if a longer mag gets in the way. Rear site is real loose if you use the irons.

Could care less about all of these opinions. Better luck next time.

Apparently some people cannot follow simple instructions to type a few characters into a website. Instructions are not opinions. I already have my 597 mags... the one who needs help (or maybe some luck?) is you.

Enjoy your new rifle.

ProMag sells a 30 round drum as well, possibly some others. When the rubber hits the road, most people opt for the 10 rounders. Fun to have a pile of big, loaded mags...but equal to that, less fun to load hi-cap mags=more time-consuming.

True , although the benefit of high capacity mags is that you can load them at home in one's free time , and then have them pre-loaded , and ready to go when you need them .....plus doing a mag dump can have the cool factor as well .

True, but seconds later when they're all empty=longer loading job. lol I mean, it's the same amount of time when it all shakes-out (time to load vs time it takes to shoot) but in my opinion, the "dump" is only fun a time or two. Better to "have and not need, than need and NOT have" as the saying goes. Get 'em while you can, nobody knows if/when Castro's love child will pull the plug.

The 10 rounders are not in stock anywhere in Canada that I can find.
Some website called Keep Shooting makes a new ten rounder. Can we import these? Anybody know?

Good eye on those. Az-te-ch Armoury should be able to import them for you. They even allow you to pick things from eBay USA if that's all you can find. I sent them an email about some mags for another gun from eBay USA and they have now put it on their site as an importable option. They add like a 40% mark up though -.-

Been looking for 10 round mags here as well. No luck though so far. As for ProMag 22 easy to find and work well. I have a 597 VTR and despite reports to the opposite if functions great.

I’ll give Az-t a try and post if I have a good experience. I’ll be looking for grouse soon so I don’t want a long snag prone mag.
Thanks for the tip.

Keep in mind the 597 hasn't been made since Remington went bankrupt, so finding factory magazines for these guns might prove difficult.

Lots of aftermarket higher cap mags around though.

I think I got all my 10 round mags at Canadian tire! I’ve got 2 597’s and about 10 mags. The 30 round mags aren’t all that great. I have 3 and one is NFG. The other two are mostly ok until they split in half. I’m a huge fan of the 597. I think they shoot better than the rest of the semi autos and I expect you will enjoy yours. Keep it clean and don’t over torque the rods and you will be fine

I emailed AzT and they replied quickly asking for a link. I sent the link and they are looking into possibilities for import. I’m sure I’m not the only guy looking for good 10 rounders.
