That's crazy.. I've never had an order from rimfiresports take more than 9-10 days. My first 3x 30rnd mags were here within a week and I destroyed one that day. (don't let your friends use F'ing Crud Cutter on your mags.. ) The mags functioned flawlessly, well the two that didn't get chemically altered did. I ordered another one, and got 10x factory mags with it. Although 30rnd'ers are great for those "rage" shoots on inanimate objects, I much rather prefer a bag of 10's. I can reload 3x 10rnd mags twice as fast as one 30rnd. And the 30's are a pain in the ass in the bush.

Great product though, the price is right and they all work wonderfully. On a related note, mine all load 32rnds with no problems, however I'm usually too impatient to fill the mags. I'm lucky if I get 20 in there before it's getting slapped back in.

First shipment (which I was having sent here) showed up at Canada Post as nothing more than a wrapper
Took a while to get this all figured out.
Second time around I had it sent to a U.S address. In speaking with Alan, I guess when he re-inputted my order, no shipping label was printed, and thus it slipped his mind until I bugged him a little more.
This will not be my last order with him... there is way too much positive input to let this little patience tester sway me away ;)
That all said, I head out to the range tonight, only to realize I left two fully loaded mags on the kitchen table :(
So to the high capacity mag gods I say... I'M NOT WORTHY, I'M NOT WORTHY!! :runaway:

congragulations on getting your mags, the gun gods have blesed you and your guns, may you have a long and happy shooting time together,

Oooooh baby!
A couple more hundred rounds through them tonight!
Found they needed a little "breaking in", but other than that :ar15:

To reduce jamming make sure that the action screws are only lightly tightened in the back of the reciever. If they are too tight it will cause jamming. Next, check function with the remington METAL magazines, they run flawlessly. What kind of jams are you getting? Failures to feed or failures to extract?

My jamming is failure to feed. The cartridge can't be inserted into chamber correctly.

As DAR701 stated, make sure the 2 set screws at the back of the received aren't tight. If this doesn't solve your problem, check your factory mags. The first 2 generation mags had nothing but problems. Make sure you have the ones with a 10 inside a circle stamped on them.

Make sure your chamber is clean as well. The 597 is very suseptable to dirt. Example I can fire let's say around 2-400 rounds in my 597 before I start to see cycling issues as compared to my 10/22 after 6-800 rounds.I wish I could take both guns and make one you'd have the functionality of the 10/22 and the dead on accuracy of the 597.

Can you post a picture to point where those screws are? Thanks

Remove the receiver from the stock, and look at the back end of it. There's a big circle (end of buffer) with a set screw off to each side. Use an allen key to loosen them off so they're only touching the guide rods (you'll feel it when you tighten).

OK, let me do it tonight

I used to have that problem too with a certain bullets but after I took it apart
and install the VQ's stuffs, replaced the hammer pin, it's now working flawlessly.
no more jamming loading or ejecting with any bullets and also with 10 or 30
rounds mags. After over 1200 rounds later it just keeps on going and going .....
I might clean it tonight before going to the range...

30 Round Mag Problems

I just got 4 mags today from Rimfire Sports and tried cycling some rounds through them to see if they fed correctly. Only one mag works right. One mag has the hold in slot on the back misaligned between the halves and won't lock into the rifle and two of them won't hold the bolt open after the last round is ejected.

Anyone else have these problems? Any ideas on how to fix them?
