Can anyone advise me where to pick up a replacement barrel for a Rem 597 in 22LR please? (on a budget, so cheap as possible please)

Remington 597 barrel?

You might try Brownells, Jarvis, Volquartsen, or some of the other makers. If the gun you have is "just a plane jane" 597 you may think about selling the one you have & getting a new one. A heavy barrel is great. I put a Volquartsen hammer & extractor in my Yellow Jacket. Trigger pull seems like 1/2. Good luck.
