Remington 5r barrel diameter

Can any owners with a rem 5r tell me what the diameter of the barrel is 14 inches from the muzzle. The reason for this is my lathe won't except anything bigger than 3/4 of an inch. I'm looking at buying a rem 5r but want to see if I can thread the barrel. Thanks
 
according to ht tp://www.snipercentral.com/milspec5r.phtml it has "the contour is the same as the normal Remington heavy barrel contour found on their 700P's, varmint rifles, and others." so 0.820 inches
 
I'm pretty sure it's .960 6" from the muzzle. I chopped mine at 18" and if I recall correctly ordered a brake that was for a .960 diameter to match the barrel.
 
I can't tell you 14" from the muzzle, as it's in the stock at that point on my 24" barreled 5R (in .223). But I can tell you that at 13" from the muzzle it is .900 +/-. At the muzzle it is .830 +/-.
