Remington 5R Milspec .308

nope no one has them..


they are a pretty damn accurate rifle out of the box, i have mine beded and the trigger re-worked at 300yds useing 175 smk, it will do 1/2 moa groups.. with all most no vertical stringing, and most of the horizontal stringing comes from wind.. i feel that in a constant wind, or no wind situation the groups would be down to about 1".
 
I own one and like it. It's a great rifle to enter into the precision rifle game. The only negative aspect for me is that it only come in stainless steel. There is tons of info on the net about them and they can achieve a high level of accuracy with handloads, or very acceptable accuracy with match ammo. 1/2 to 1 MOA seems to be the standard.
 
I have one but haven't tried it at long range. The first time I tried it out the scope would not line up with the rifle. I changed the scope and put a one piece base on and its a great improvement will cut a nice group. I probably have about 20 to 25 rounds through it, but am interested in how well the X Pro (I think that's the name) trigger works.
 
I have a 5R (not R5) and shoot it regularly at 900yds. it does quite well. I have had good results with it at 100yds with 167gr and 155gr bullets. and use the 175gr SMKs at the longer ranges.
 
I have one and for the price it's quite an interesting package. Only drawbacks (personnal opinion) are the X-Mark Pro trigger and the recoil pad which is really thin an hard. Also, it's glued on, so replacing it (if needed) is not a fairly easy task for the non-DIYer. The HS stock is very rigid (had the occasion to check it against a couple of bell & Carlson stocks and they are not as rugged as the HS one from the 5R). Mine always shoots sub-moa groups and when I'm calm relaxed, it shoots sub half-MOA (5rnds min). For a couple hundreds more, you can purchase an Rem 700 XCR tactical long range which features a 40-x trigger (far superior to the X-Mark Pro), but a less ridgid platform (B&C stock, which flexes at the front). I had the chance to try-out an XCR on a 5R stock (my friend's barreled action in my stock) and wow, great combo!
 
I love mine! Here's a pic of 3 groups of 5 shots each at 200 yards using Hornady 168gr BTHP commercial ammo I've shot today! Not bad eh?

I own 5 Icon--- 243, 308, 6.5 Creedmoor in Precision Hunter 308 Icon WS and Icon Warlord 308 they all have the 5R rifle barrel.... all of them shoot sub half moa the Icon Warlord shoot sub one quarter moa, they are incredible rifles, expecting a sixth one in 300 mag soon a Icon WS camo, they are an addiction... JP.

The warlord is awesome. With A scope and rings I'm guessing around 3k?
 
P&D have one on their list, bought my 308 and 223 from them...can also get from Frontier....nice bench rifle for starting. Definitely need good ammo or reload to get it's full potential.

Is it as accurate as my 6.5x47L, no, but it's also 1/4 the cost.
 
The TC Icon Warlord is 3000.00 for the rifle took one of my TRG scope a S&B 5X25X56 11 and fitted it to the W.... Awsome shooter among the best i own or know... JP.
