Remington 600/660 in .350 Rem Magnum?

I Have One In The Model 660 Magnum, I Love It Shot A Nice 4 Point Whitetail At 15 Yards Thru The Neck From My Tree Stand Needless To Say It Droped Like A Ton Of Bricks. I Have Attached A Photo Of A Couple Of Groups I Shot At 100 Yards With The Loading Data.

Does anyone here have one of these? I've got a fierce hankering to own one of these babies after reading about the hot loaded .35 Remington bolt actions some people here are running...;)

I understand that the original 18 1/2" barreled version is the model 600, and that the later variant with a 20" barrel was named the 660...I'd just like to get one of these short, fire-breathing thundersticks in .350 Remington Magnum!

Any comments, fellow shooting brethren?

Thanks, Jeff/1911.

just go to Wholesale and get a new 673...22" tube....a floorplate,a real bolt handle and a real bolt release.

More rifle for your $$ than a 600/660....IMHO:)

Or you could buy a brand new Remington CDL in 35 Whelen for about the same price and have a nice looking rifle instead. :D

Where is todbartell the internet legend with his ballistic tables

It is possible that somehting horrible has befallen him...

Either that, or he is simply shirking his duties, as described in CGN operating manual #4, Section 2.6 Paragraph 3, Item 2. Which clealry states:

2. "todbartell shall, upon legitimate request, provide ballistic information including but not limited to comparison of one cartridge to another.

These comparisons shall include, but are not limited to, velocity, energy, trajectory and any other information that pertains to the discussion"

So now what? Does he get fired? Demoted? Do we get a refund?

35 calibre 250 grn bullet at 2500 fps is pretty good for any big game in Canada...might not be ideal for pronghorn or goats but inside 250 yds it is effective. I bought the 700 Classic when they chambered it in 350Rem Mag and have been very happy. Over time I swapped for a McMillan stock and added a Canjar 3 lever set trigger and EAW bases/rings. I left the factory sights on it ... without a scope it swings very nicely. Nice deer gun and hasn't been a poblem with bloodshot meat in my experience. The factory 200gr Corelocks are good as is the 200 Hornady and the 250 RN Hornady is pretty good too. AP

I was up at Wholesale Sports today and handled the new Model Seven CDL in a 350 Rem Mag.......now this is the one to buy.......20" tube looks just right...no rib.....regular Remington sights......cushy recoil pad.....and a $789 tag....it was hard to walk out empty-handed

Rembo, thanks...I just looked at these on the Remington site and are they EVER a nice looking rifle! - Jeff.

Yeah I looked at that .350 when they came in (to Wholesale Edmonton) and chose the .243 instead. The .350 is just too much cartridge for that lil' lightweight 7 CDL frame, in my wimpy opinion;-)

They had a .204 Ruger in the same shipment with gorgeous wood, nice sharp checkering. Too bad about the caliber, .204 Ruger in a rifle like that is like kissing your sister.

I did own a lovely Rem 660 in .350 Rem Mag, and for reasons that now escape me I swapped it away. And the SOB I swapped it to won't let me have it back, even though I have been pleading with him ever since.....

It is a VERY accurate cartridge, not unpleasant to shoot, and with serious terminal results. If you don't believe me, go back to GGUTHRIE's post on this thread and see what he has been doing with my old gun. (Come on Glenn, pretty please with sugar on it????)

Doug

I am looking most forward to getting acquainted with this most interesting cartridge! Thanks for all the "informational and eye candy" fellers! :)

Jeff.

Hey Jeff/1911

I was asleep at the wheel so I didn't get my 2 cents in. Luv the my M660 and my M600 in 350ReMag. I also don't find em a problem for recoil - even stoked up. See em here if U care to look - http://35cal.com/loading.html

Ive also got a stainless M77 too in that cal. Accurate but it's back at Ruger service getting the feeding working.

Anyone want to buy an unfired brand new in box Ruger M77 MkII in blued/synthetic for about $575 with no taxes? Just PM me. I have a friend (in NWT) who wants to put a walnut stock on his stainless/synthetic M77 in 350. So he will buy a new blued/walnut one brand new from Wholesale, swap stocks, and sell it for $200 less which should be around $550 - 600. He asked me to ask around if anyone is interested?

I was wondering how the Rugers would feed the 350. From what I can understand and have heard its not the easiest cartridge to get to feed well. What were the issues Whelan B? Big wait for the repairs?

Bolt face often slipped over case head when closing on the left side only. Plus feed ramp very rough and steep.

Epps sent it back to Ruger service in Quebec.

I'm takin a wait and see attitude right now. I don't have my hopes up too much that they will actually do much more than look at it. I was told around six weeks. No one at Epps can actually talk with Ruger service they told me as they parlay no French themselves. NOT TOO GOOD of a situation I'm thinkin.

I have two other 350s - a Remington M600 and M660 - and BOTH FEED WONDERFULLY just about anything I load - round or spire point.
