I have just inherited a nice Mohawk .222 the trigger in the thing is god awful. My two optionS are to try and lighten it to a safe and more reasonable level or drop a Timney in it. Has anyone had experience with the Timney and does it drop right in with out any stock work etc?

Yes the timney is drop in. I have a rem 660 in 243 with the timney in it set to 3lbs. Very nice.
I would also suggest replacing that pos of a bottom metal(warped nylon) with an aluminum or steel bottom metal. I have one of each, 1 from cvmw (alu) and 1 from numrich( metal). Both a nice replacement, but im leaning towards the alu.

Good luck

It is not a difficult trigger for a skilled man to adjust... sometimes it may require a bit of a rework. 1000's of them have been done successfully.

guntech is correct.

OP,
Seek a professional riflesmith that is confident & knowledgable to remove,disassemble,clean,re-assemble,adjust & re-install the OEM Rem 600 trigger group.

Timney triggers SUCK

OP,
600,660 trigger groups(forward offset trigger lever) are NOT interchangeable w/ Seven,700,40X trigger groups.
