Hey folks.

Im starting to pack my own. I've got Hornandy 75gr Vmax and 55gr Nosler ballistic tips. The powder that I have is Varget, IMR 4350 and H4350. The gun was made in 2005 as per the CZ etching on the barrel. Im pretty sure it 9 1/8" twist. I've just free floated the barrel and epoxied the recoil lug. The gun is absolutely stock except for a little trigger work I had done to it about two years ago. I havent shot it since the work that has been recently done. The barrel was worn at the points of contact on the stock.. incredibly shiny.. Looking for a recipe for any loads that have been good for this same setup.. Wanna use it for some coyote shooting. Oh and I have a 4.5 to 18 x 40 bushnell on top.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Cheers

Start with varget, Im pretty sure my starting load for my 80gr was 36grains Varget, my 70gr was 38 Gr varget. Its the most consistant, just check on a book 100% on where to start around grain wise.

im shooting 33gr of IMR4064 with sierra 100 gr gamekings, last time out 3 shot group under .5" at 100 yd
and max load of benchmark with sierra 55 gr blitz kings, last time out also under .5" at 100 yd.

gun is a stock marlin xs7s .243 win

Use your manuals & work up. Chrono your loads & be cautious of max loads in the winter, they may be too hot come summer. I've learned to play with overall length. Some calibers are more affected by OAL than others.

I have loaded a bunch of 75 grain vmax over 29 grains of H4895. Great reduced recoil load. My 9 year old has no problem shooting this round accurately at 100 yards.
