Same question. Why are there no full custom Tikkas in Top Level PRS?

Americans tend to go with what they know and have used for years, they have a huge domestic firearms industry with endless options. You won't find many Blasers, Sauers, Steyrs, Haenels, or the like at a north american competition. Go to Europe and that ratio changes.

In the end the rifles being discussed are all proven designs and can all be very accurate. Who uses what in North American PRS does not prove much.

Fair enough, but Tikkas are widely available in North America are they not? I have nothing against Tikkas BTW, I'm a proud Sako owner and I love everything about that rifle, but I'm not the one saying a Tikka will outshoot a Remington 700 5R all day, every day, because it won't.

I think the guy who posted that has probably owned some 700's that were less than stellar out of the box and he had better luck with Tikka's quality control. I have seen both shoot very well. Anyways, when comparing the accuracy of a 5R vs a CTR the trigger puller is of far more importance imho.

For the OP, my choice would be the Winchester for two reasons: Claw extractor and bolt mounted safety.

Yes I agree. That's why I've had Trigger Tech triggers in all my 700s. The trigger on my Sako 85 is really nice. If the CTR is anything like that it must be good. I've been lucky with my 700s for sure. I've gone through 4 in the last 2 years and 3 were 1/2 MOA, with the 5R being a consistent 1/3 MOA with hand loads. And no, none of them shot like that out of the box, but they weren't far. No gunsmith needed either.

Sorry to bust your bubble guys, get serious and get a Tikka, out shoot both of them, hands down. The Tikka's are made straight and made right the first time, don't NEED all those after market items to get it right. I have had many of all three of them, and Tikka is consistently a better firearm, period. Enjoy. Dave & The Girls

I would take a savage over tikka. Bad experience with them. Better? Not in my eyes. Even if I didn't get a dud it still feels and looks cheaply made when placed beside a model 70 or even a 700.
