I would like to know the value for a remington model 700 adl in 30-06. It's made in the 80's and in really good shape.

It's got the blind magazine and not the hinge like the bdl has so would that affect value at all?

Thanks

It does affect the value. More wear on bolt to unload. Grade in order is CDL, BDL and ADL. 3006 is not that uncommon. Price is based on condition but no more the 800 if almost new in present market. NIB is different. Can be found cheaper but sell fast

Bolt wear affects price. Bolt diamond pattern finish wears with use.

Does it have cheesy gloss finish stock with Monte Carlo cheekpiece, hard plastic butt pad?

My M-700 ADL, which I bought in 1980, was basically as you describe, and it had the cheesy gloss finish stock with Monte Carlo cheekpiece.

It's always been a great shooter.

This is new to me. I've never once seen a difference in bolt wear between the BDL and ADL based on unloading.

Model 700 BDL is fit with a hinged floor plate or detachable magazine (DM) that allows the shooter to unload ammunition through the bottom of the rifle by opening the floor plate or removing the magazine. The Model 700 ADL uses a blind magazine and can only be unloaded through the top by working the bolt open and closed.

Im not saying people should cycle the bolt this way to unload but.. people do

Yeah, I agree; this claim eludes me too. What wear are we talking about here? On the cocking cam? The locking lugs? The bolt body? I'd guess that just about any bolt-action rifle can have the bolt cycled thousands of times without any noticeable wear--assuming, of course, that the contact surfaces are properly lubricated so that galling doesn't occur.

Bolt wear mistaken for poorly ground extractor rivet maybe, sounds like a fudd story. ADL for the reason listed.

I have owned a lot of Remmy and not very many even after 100 s rounds wore the diamond bolt finish  RJ

I also have a BDL with the bolt finish wearing off. i own it. its a 80s gun. This isnt new. You cycle gun enough, diamond pattern finish gets worn.

Some guns from 80s new in box. no wear. who would known lol.

whatever to some comments. you know everything

^^ x2^^ .... I've owned a couple dozen, probably more 700s over the years in both BDL and ADL.

Wear to bolt jeweling will happen on a very small scale depending on the fit of the bolt to the action but not to the extent of devaluing the rifle and certainly there has not been any more noticeable wear on the ADLs.

I think tj black is alluding to wear to the jeweled surfaces of the bolt. It's quite a stretch to call it "wear" and I can't imagine someone unloading the magazine by cycling the action so many times that it causes any appreciable wear. It's a bit of a silly warning.

The ADL is a great rifle. They shoot as well as any other M700 but they save a little weight and you don't have to worry about a faulty floorplate catch dumping ammunition on the ground under recoil. That one I actually have seen.

Thank you, yes yes, its just the finish on bolt. No effect on function. But I collect Remingtons. I have one I shoot. Thats it. Rest are part of collection. The value I apply to my collection is condition. This wear on bolt finish effects my decision. I would pass 9 times out of 10 if this wear is present. I will also pay more as would be expected for mint perfect diamond pattern bolt.
I feel same way about stock scratches.

And yes...people cycle the bolt lots. Scope kind of gets in the way..no? Its not safe but people do it. i dont hunt so once a year use is not me. I have my beater gun
Anyway. I stand by my views. wear on finish effects value like dents to a stock.

But it happens, it wears, what is it i know nothing about. using term jeweling lol. You know what i meant hero. You said it happens already. sorry i hurt your feelings remington man lol i mean jim

Matter of fact, what point are you arguing. That people dont cycle the action to unload on a ADL. Do they use their fingers to pick them out?
That the ADL more prone than a BDL to be effected. That BDL unload from bottom?
That most hunters wont use their guns enough to cause wear.
The term diamond pattern vs jeweling. Really?

What does Remington jim know that I dont.
