Remington 700 adl value

I like Remingtons more then most. Finding minty ones from the 70’s and 80’s makes me happy.

^ That rifle is exactly like my 1980 M-700 ADL, including the cheesy gloss stock with the Monter Carlo cheekpiece and the hard plastic butt plate.

Mine has morphed.

I have hunted hard with my old ADL, snapped the stock in two on a moose hunt, when we were pulling a bull out of the bush. Rifle jumped out of the trailer, sling caught on antler point and the stock ended up dropping in front of the trailer... I can still see that like yesterday!

So the stock got replaced a couple of times.

Currently it is in a Wildcat Composite stock. Got Williams bottom put in so the blind magazine is gone.

If you want to see wear on bolt jeweling, this rifle is the poster boy. I make no apologizes, this rifle has hunted hard and accounted for a lot of big game.

This has always been a great rifle. Still is, wear be damned.

M-700 Sendero in the background, the old ADL is in front, evidence of wear on the paint of the stock.

Williams bottom floorplate.

Wear on the bluing of the bolt

Thanks for posting pictures guys. Thats a work horse for sure demonical.
As much as this thread took some hard left and rights. I think thats why CGN is here.

But I have to think that some people reading this thread must of learned something about the 700. Whats a ADL, or BDL or CDL
Whats jeweling, is it just Bling etc. Does it have another purpose. It did at one time. I had to learn this.
Whats a blind magazine etc.

If you know this stuff good. Share... Add to thread because CGN should be more than just a pissing match or waste of time just because you know it already.
I forgot to add Remington Jim.. I bought the Remington lawn mower from lowes couple years ago. Do you have lol

The bolt on my rifle was originally completely jeweled, but what I can't claim to remember is how finely that was done.

No pictures exist of my rifle, from when it was new.

But whatever it had, I most assuredly wore that jeweling away, as you can see if those pics.

I have a bdl I think it’s 1989 based on markings. The bolt has no jewelling and no evidence of faint jewelling either. Did they come without this feature ?

Some were, some did not. I am not really sure what years. Some was based on retailers request. Someone else might be able to answer. My BDL has it. 1981. High gloss stock. Remington started jeweling in 1969. It was started to lubricate the bolt but then changed more towards cosmetic.

Check to see if the bolt is serialized to the rifle to start with
