Anyone purchased a new 700 BDL in the last few years? I have my eye on a new .243 and wondering what others have found with respect to workmanship and accuracy.
Nothing wrong with a Remington 700 BDL. Good gun but you should also look at the Weatherby Vanguard Series II. Guaranteed sub MOA and really good gun for the price. Personally, I'd lean towards a .270 Win or 30-06.
Got a 94'ish in .300 WM a few months ago, very slick action. Shoots well to boot.
Came with aftermarket DM and an extra clip. Fits me well, scope was crap will replace next spring.
Have heard varied results with the newer ones. First time to the range will tell. Love the BDL stock.
I have one made in 1979 and the new ones are certainly lacking in comparison fit and finish wise. Out of the 4 new Remington 700s I've bought since 2009 all have been shooters.
I bought a CDL in 2010 and the fit and finish is not like the older 700s. It had a few issues to iron out at the start, but it is the most accurate rifle I own now.
