Did anyone see the 700 documentary “Remington under fire" does this scare anyone? I personally own two and never had an issue with them. CNBC does produce a convincing argument though. Don’t get me wrong I am not hating on them, but just a little worried.
What are your guy’s thoughts?

I feel bad for the families involved, but each death could have been prevented if the firearms mentioned would have been handled in a safe manner.

The woman that was shot in the face while in the kitchen causes alarm for me. Everyone sitting around the table drinking while playing with a loaded firearm. Why was it loaded? But, they blamed Remington for a dangerous safety mech. It amazes me that the reporters failed to question the nature of the firearm being loaded.

The little boy that was killed almost traumatized me. I am a parent and my heart dropped. But, even if the safety in the rifle was faulty, pointing the rifle in any direction is potentially dangerous. The boy was on the opposite side of the trailer when he was killed. Obviously the rifle was not pointed straight at the ground while his mother was unloading. My heart goes out to this family,
but they can't blame Remington for the direction in which the rifle was being pointed when it discharged.

I had a Remington that would fire when the bolt was locked forward and down. I discovered this on it's first trip to the range, while the barrel was pointed in a safe direction and I had a firm grasp with the butt in my shoulder. The mechanism was most definitely at fault, however, safe handling practices meant nobody was injured.
