i have a remington 700 chambered in 338 win mag I'm trying to find out the date of manufacture. I'm not familiar with remington. Serial number is C6711400 and the tampings on the left side of the barrel are M 53
Late late 1980s rifle. There is at least one character missing from your markings on the barrel. There should be 2 letters, same font, from the same stamp "die", with a marking before and after those.
