remington 700, LA and SA rail?

just wondering if a SA weaver rail will fit a LA gun, i bought a rail and some rings and a SA rail was sent to me by mistake i believe, no big deal but if it fits ill jsut mount it to my gun so i can mount the new scope.

SA is Short Action, LA is Long Action. They aren't interchangeable if the mounts are one piece as the holes for the screws that secure the rail to the action will be too close together if trying to fit a SA rail on LA rifle.

thats what i figured, ####, guess its going back tomorrow. ive been trying to find this info through google and i couldnt get a straight yes or no answer. guess i was hoping it would even though it was listed as SA.
