We have one of these at the store I work and and it keeps catching my eye. Chambered in 7mm Rem Mag which is always decent for distance shooting.

Just wondering what owners thought of the rifle.

If that's the Hogue Overmoulded stock the one thing that folks complain about is the barrel not being totally free-floating, i.e. during barrel whip the barrel contacts the stock in unpredictable ways causing the groups to not be as tight as they should be. Some folks dremel out the stock to "fully free-float" the barrel, some folks replace the stock with something better/stiffer/heavier.

It looks more or less like a SPS Varmit with Houge stock.Should be good for long range being a 7mm RM.I have a friend that shoots a sps 700 in 7mm RM out to 1200 yards and it stays under MOA with reloads if you let it cool down between shots.
Not sure of the price of these but the Sendero makes a awfully nice long range rifle to.

Its not a Hogue stock, Its a Ball and Carson M-40, aluminum bedding blocks, similar to the HS that comes with the 5R, just a slightly different profile. True freefloating on the Bell Carson

Not sure of a Sendero but the "Long Range" can be had for about $900 give or take depending on the store.

My buddy has one in 30-06. Every load he has tried has gone under one MOA, and several have gone under 1/2MOA. That rifle is totally bone stock, no mods or alterations. They are a good value in my opinion.

I have been wanting one of these for quite a while. The sendero is about $1750 so this seems like a decent value. I love the 7mm so one of these may follow me home soon. If you get it let us know how it shoots

Very Nice!
I like the B&C M40 stocks on those.
What did you put on for glass?

Scope is a Vortex Viper 6.502-x50. It's the scope that I also put onto every new gun and has never let me down.

I like the stock except for the texture/colour. It looks like someone coughed up phlegm all over the gun and let it dry. May get painted in the future.

lol !
I don't mind the look of them at all and on the one I handled I find the texture gives it a really nice grip.
I think the phlegm splattered stock look will grow on you with some time!

I bought the same rifle in 300 win mag. Took the stock off immediately and dropped it into a Cadex chassis.

Care to elaborate ? Ive tried, houge, boyds, Cadex, MDT and bell and Carlson stocks.

SO far my fav would be the bell and Carlson stocks... (I like the m40a5 look and feel more then the tactical stocks)

As for function and fit they are all very similar, an aluminum bedding block with free floating barrel.

Mind you boyds and houge are the bottom two, I don't like them. I Would take MDT, Cadex, Mc Millan, Bell and Carlson over those two lol.

I couldn't stand the snot look so I decided to paint the stock (since I plan on using the rifle also for hunting).

Just did a short term Krylon paint job on it. Still waiting to have the action Armacoated.
