Has anyone seen one of these I guess they were a limited production m700 lss with a drop clip in 30-06...............sounds like the best of everything..........I got one on the way,;) ;)
I will post pics as soon as I get it...............

I'm a HUGE fan of the LSS (Every remington 700 I own is one :D)....but I hate....and I mean HATE detachable mags. For me it's a hinged floorplate or nothing.

Before a flame war starts...heres my reasoning: #1. Buddy lost his mag on the way to the camp, spent the rest of the trip whining about it.

#2...and heres the big one: Huge moose (60"+!) steps out at 40 yds. Shoulder and fire....caught a tree branch, but hes another 40 yds from cover. Quick cycle the bolt, place the crosshairs on his forward shoulder....perfect shot! now squeeeeeeze..."click".

The mag was not seated properly, and the recoil from the first shot dropped it at my feet. Swore that was the last DM hunting rifle I'd use...and it was.

Nice gun, but it's kinda shiny, has a gloss finish over the laminate, definitely weatherproof:D

PS I've been using DM's for 16 years, never had a problem, all my rifles have em.

I was going to get my LSS refinished because of the Gaudy high gloss finish that this model has. I took it to a guy who is the head finisher at a high-end millwork shop. To save time and money he said rather than sanding and re-spraying just hit the finish with 00 steel wool (fine). It now looks like my stock has been re-finished! He says to use steel wool rather than sandpaper because you will never sand through with the 00 steel wool.

Never blame the tool for operator incompetence.

Here's a pic of mine I took one day to show my buddy at University my new toy

Sorry to hijack :p

that is a nice rifle, but not the same one that Jdemora was getting

his should be a grey laminate with detach mag, like this one

I can like the LSS but just can't get warm and fuzzy over the DM. Don't see any advantages for someone that hunts on foot, and they really kill the lines of rifles. Just a personal thing though, as many find them a desireable feature.

the LSS DM is a limited run that Remington puts out once in a while, rifles that wont show up on their site

Ive heard of laminated thumbhole 700s with fluted barrels circulating in Canada in 2006, as well as camo stocked SPS stainless with detach mags, in 30-06, 300 win mag, and 300 wsm
