Does anyone know where to get a magazine spacer for a Remington 700 in .223?

It is part# F15286 for the spacer or F106605 for the whole assembly. A new or used one would be fine.

I can't seem to locate one anywhere except the US and they won't ship it to Canada.

I have sent a message to Remington's Canadian service depot but with the grammar and spelling that I see in the website, I am not holding my breath.

I am hoping that I don't have to make one as there are not a lot of good pictures of it available.

Do you mean the mag follower IE: the thingeee that the flat steel spring slides into?

No, this is a spacer that only appears in the magazine box for the shorter calibers. It does not appear on the exploded parts diagram for the rifle.

I would add a link to a picture but it is against the rules to link to a product from a non-sponsor (as far as I know).

Thanks for the heads up on Brownells! For some reason it says I can not ship the spacer itself to Canada but it does seem to allow the entire box plus spacer.

I will call them tomorrow and confirm.

Thanks for the replies.

It's not that uncommon to make a spacer. The usual reason is to make a .223 mag box longer internally, to allow heavy target bullets to be seated to the lands and still fit the magazine. A chunk of aluminum bar stock and s few screws works pretty good.

Unless things have changed; for parts to be shipped out of the states they had to be on the "list", which requires that someone went through the trouble of getting it listed. Some small parts weren't worth the bother or fell through the cracks.

If there isn't some special reason for needing the spacer instead of the whole box, I'd just get the box.

I have contacted Western Gun Parts as they are in Canada. I will let you know how it turns out.

I am a bit loath to make one from bar stock as I do not have an original to pattern it after. I tried mocking one up last night using wood with some success but I could not get it to feed reliably. If I can't get the parts I will look into it further.

Gravel Industries, the Remington service center for this area, emailed me back right away to let me know they don't have the parts but can order them in.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
