Guys need your advice.
Rifle is Rem 700 Police in .308Win and I would like to dress it up with good bases and rings.
Also which scope would you put in on?

Rifle will be used for shooting from 100m to max 800m.

As for the base I am looking at Ken Ferrell PICATINNY Base, rings? maybe also Farrell's.

Please advice,

Peter

Ken Farrel stuff is superb. The base does sit higher than some, but that means you can use shorter scope rings, especially with a Nightforce and its 56mm objective so it all balances out. I have Farrel bases on at least a half dozen rifles and they are my #1 pick.

Leupold 3.5-10x40mm M3LR sits on top of my Rem 700P using a Badger Ordnance 20MOA rail and rings. Rig is solid and shoots great. Wouldn't change anything on mine, but again, like all the answers you'll get on here, its all a matter of personal preference. Use the best glass you can afford and the best rings and bases to go with it.

Good luck and happy shooting!

I have Near bases on 3 of my rifles. As far as rings go, I have a set of Mark 4's and two sets of TPS rings. Richard Near also makes outstanding rings as well. There are several reputable makers ( NearMfg, Leupold, Nightforce, Badger, Seekins, TPS etc) out there and it is a Ford vs Chevy thing I guess. I left out Farrel because I think the bases sit too high and a few years back I had a Farrel base crack on me. He apparently fixed the problem but I personally won't touch one again. As far a scopes go, I would get nothing less than a Mark 4 and for a bit more a Nightforce. I was sold on Leupold until I got a Nightforce NXS 3.5-15X50 w/ the R1 MOA reticle. The thing is built like a tank. Both are excellent scopes but my eyes like the NF better. The adjustments I found on the NF seem more precise than the Leupold. A S&B would be the ultimate scope but for the price difference between the NF and the S&B, I din't think there is that much difference in quality to justify the cost difference. I have used both and found the NF just as good but that is my opinion.

I have farrel -20 base, leupold rings, nikon scope.

Nothing fancy or expensive yet, but it gets the job done.

Nothing wrong with upgrading down the road I figure. More important to get out and shoot the thing.

is it an LTR?

here is some shots of my 700p ltr .308, w/ Seekins Precision 20 MOA base/ 30mm low rings, harris bipod (hbrms), Bushnell Elite 4200 Tactical 6-24x50 and soon to be installed Tac Ops bolt knob.
there is no doubt that Glen Seekins (owner of Seekins Precision) makes the BEST rings/ base for the money. google him and call for info.

the scope is set up for 1000 yds, and i have easily hit wine bottles at 600 yds, first shot w/ Federal 175gr gold medal match.

I like hitting wine bottles at arms length, preferably even closer so it doesn't miss the glass.

(Just to still the pot, GGG in Arizona makes some outstanding Model 700 parts and pieces. I recommended them to a friend and he maxed out his credit card ticking things off his shopping list.)
