Hey I have A remington 700 sps chamberd in 300 win mag. I took it out today to sight it in and everytime I fire a shot the bolt jams shut. i canot open it without an excessive amout of force. I was using remington core loct ammunition 180gr. Hope some one can help thanks!

Try cleaning out the chamber and then wipe it dry and see if this makes a difference. If the gun is new and the cleaning doesn't work then have the chamber checked for roughness and possible warranty. How do the fired cases look? If you post a picture maybe a more accurate diagnosis could be made.

I doubt it is a rough chamber but make sure it is clean and dry and test it again. Lubrication on the bolt lugs. If the same ammo jams, try something different. If something different works, the factory Remington ammo is too hot. It wouldn't be the first batch of factory ammo loaded to the nuts... If all makes of ammo are hard to extract get it to a warranty depot.

Pull the bolt out and shine a light from the rear. My bet is the chamber is dirty. If it is, get a 45 cal bore brush and scrub it out.

Had this happen in my .308 once in the midst of a hunt. I now it keep spotless.
