Remington 700 Recall - ** SOLUTION**

You looking at the rifle trigger and deciding it's ok doesn't negate the fact that there is a safety recall in place. Neither does taking it to the gun smith. You might think its fine but if you sell the thing and some jack ass blows his buddy guts out with it what do you think he will say?

The safety recall is there to protect remmy's butt and because they came out and said there is a safety issue and your rifle is affected and should not be used until repaired by an authorized center you have to now cover your butt. That means following the procedure so you don't wind up holding the bag.

And for Pete's sake if you are selling one of these darn rifles you know is affected by the recall get the darn thing fixed first. If you sell it and are aware that it is affected by the recall and say nothing to the potential buyer, you are not being a good seller and it may come back to haunt you if something happens down the line.

Once you ignore the safety recall saying that you shouldn't fire your gun until fixed you bear full responsibility for what happens afterward.

Just my two cents.
If some idiot blows a hole in his buddy's guts then he is an idiot for not having good his rifle pointed in a safe direction, that ain't the guns fault, nor the triggers.......

Exactly but that won't stop him from claiming it was the triggers fault or yours cause YOU said it was safe....

I decided to buy a timney and fix things myself instead of sending my rifle away for months to get fixed.

I think lots of others have had the same idea because I had a difficult time finding an after market trigger in stock for my 700

Right frickin' on. The reason Remington had to remove the Mohawk series of rifles from the market was because a bunch of lawyers got on their case after a kid shot his dad whilst getting into the truck with a loaded Mohawk and pulled the trigger with the rifle on safe, and it discharged.

Rather than address the issue with the cheaply stamped metal safety mechanism, Remmy pulled the rifle from production. Dumb move on their part.:(

[/IMG]This took me about 10 minutes and was $150 for my timney nickel plated right hand trigger with safety.
